Today's Agent Skill: Weekly Status Report Builder

What It Does

Friday afternoon rolls around and you're digging through your sent mail, calendar, and task list trying to remember what you actually got done this week. The weekly status report takes longer than it should, and it usually undersells your work. This skill turns your scattered notes into a clean, manager-ready update in about two minutes.

How It Works

The agent takes whatever raw material you give it, like task lists, bullet notes, calendar entries, or pasted chat snippets, and sorts each item into Completed, In Progress, Blocked, or Next Week. It rewrites vague entries as outcome statements, marks anything that needs a decision from your manager, and cuts duplicates. You get a short report with consistent headings that you can paste straight into email, Slack, or Teams.

How to Deploy It

Save the skill content below as SKILL.md inside a folder named weekly-status-report in your agent's skills directory, such as ~/.claude/skills/weekly-status-report/SKILL.md. Restart or reload the agent, then trigger it by saying 'build my weekly status report' and pasting in your notes.

# Weekly Status Report Builder

## Description
Converts messy weekly work notes into a structured status update. The update leads with outcomes, points out blockers, and flags decisions that need a manager. Built for individual contributors and team leads who send a recurring weekly update.

## Trigger
Use this skill when the user says "build my weekly status report", "write my status update", "weekly update", or "what did I get done this week" and gives raw notes.

## Input
- Raw notes in any format: bullets, task list exports, calendar entries, pasted chat or email snippets
- Optional: the reader (manager, team, or client) and a preferred length (short or detailed)
- Optional: last week's report, used to carry forward open items

## Steps
1. Read all input and pull out each distinct work item.
2. Merge duplicates and related fragments into single items.
3. Put each item in one bucket: Completed, In Progress, Blocked, or Next Week.
4. Rewrite each item as an outcome, not an act
